Bio

Jason Matney is a second year doctoral student in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources at NC State. Currently he is working under the advisement of Dr. Smith and Dr. Raju Vatsavai. Jason's research interests involve developing methodologies for using geospatial technologies and spatial statistics to model ecosystem shifts. His recent interest is in leveraging web-based geovisualization to convey and amplify conservation narratives across dynamic, single-page web applications. These visualizations often parlay petabyte-scale datasets and optical remote sensing data into immersive depictions of potential climate change outcomes.
